Tea’se your troubles away

Who says you need a prescription for every problem?

Since the days of ancient Egypt and China, aromatic and natural remedies have been essential treatments for many health concerns. I find that today, people depend so much on the pharmaceutical industry as if there are no other solutions. Come to think of it, do we even take the time to consider how these drugs are made? Well, there are over a hundred chemical substances that have been derived from plants for use as drugs and medicines. Plants. So why not take the core (plants) and vanish the harmful elements?

Obviously, we can’t go back in time to the ancient Egyptian or the Chinese for their veiled remedies but we can turn to some of the handed-down wisdom which we do have available today. This knowledge may be naturally converted and poured into your favorite cup of herbal tea. The gentleness of dried flowers, leaves, seeds, and roots in hot water produces beverages that are drunk not just for their flavors but also for supposed therapeutic effects.

Chai is another fascinating drink which has made its’ way to many well-known coffee spots. For centuries, spices have been used in alternative medicine to treat everything from insomnia, mental alertness, lower cholesterol, diabetes and even weight loss. It’s found that the appetizing drinks can actually boost exercise endurance; hydrate the body while keeping that waistline in check. There’s a wide range of flavors within every type of tea and host of different preventative health benefits such as:

  • Chamomile
  • Ginger
  • Hibiscus
  • Turmeric
  • Fennel seeds
  • Flax seeds
  • Cinnamon
  • AND TONS MORE!!!

So brew up a batch of the good stuff and enjoy life sip by sip ;)

Until next time, drink on!
